Unit I
BMI Unit I is in Liluah, an industrial belt in Howrah and is the first unit which began its operations in the year 1986.
Unit I is solely for production of Red Lead with an installed capacity of 1800MTPA and can augment its capacity to 3000MTPA.
This unit has a state of art red lead plant where right from barton mill till the final product is bagged, no manual material handling is done. Barton Mill is connected to Red Lead Furnaces through Elevators & Silo and automated charging anddischarging of materials are done.
High temperature brick lined furnaces with Stainless Steel 316 agitator along with SS lined discharge trays & trolleys eliminates the risk of iron contamination. In-house 99.98% Pure Lead are used for manufacturing Red Lead.
Highly sophisticated chemical laboratory for various in process and finished goods analysis along with Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer helps BMI achieve consistent product.

Presently our customer base in domestic market includes RDSO & DGS&D enlisted Battery Manufacturers whom we are supplying from last 3 decades and our predominant market is exports of both Lead and Lead Oxides (Pure Lead, Lead Alloys Lead Sub Oxide & Red Lead)
